Sunday I decided since my NFL team wasn't playing to do something constructive. So I tried a partial mash double chocolate milk stout. I'm positive I did all the steps right. Though I have not seen any bubbles in my fermenter/airlock.

+1. You may not have a tight seal on your bucket, so it seeps out the lid instead of through the airlock.

A gravity reading us the only way to find out how fermentation is progressing. The airlock is only there to provide a sanitary way for CO2 to escape and not let anything from the air inside.

Check the gravity. Also, give it some time as well. Slow starts are nerve racking, but kick back, drink a beer, and just wait.

OK thanks for all that support. Took a reading looks like it is fermentimg its at 2%. And its starting to smell right also has the flavor of beer. Heh
