Today I did a New World Porter Clone which was my second AG experience. I was a little low on efficency on the first IPA, but I hit the numbers today. My only mentor is Home Brew Forum so thanks.

Some questions: What is the best way to store grains that are crushed and how long will they last? I am not going to buy a vacume packer, but instead a grain mill and grind my own as I need them. However, there will always be some crushed grain I must purchase due to my ablity to order bulk grains in every variety? The same question for hops.

My last question is how often and how many time do you stir the mash during the sixty minute time? I did mine once at thrity minutes, but have read some do it more often.

Store the grain in a cool, dry place, preferably in a sealed container and they'll be fine.

Hops can be stored in the fridge, or even better for long term, in the freezer.

I usually stir more a the beginning to make sure all of the grain is hydrated and no dry clumps, then about every fifteen minutes.

I just pack everything in the top of the kegger.

I stir at the beginning and about half way through. I also check the temperature after stirring.
