I picked up my keggles from my buddy yesterday and tried to wirewheel the back of the welds. I was so excited to almost be done with this build i grabbed the wrong wirewheel and used the one for ferrous metals. Well now i have rust :(. i grabbed the stainless wirewhell and tried to hit the same spots but it is still there... any ideas how to get rid of this damn rust?

Just keep sanding. I doubt it will do much, it's just a little build up from the bristles probably. I'm actually surprised that even happened.

hopefully that will do it. i have the keggles assembled so im about to water test and make sure everythings working, maybe boiling some water in them will help or at least let me see the exact spots that still need sanding

What about hitti
ng it with a flap wheel? That's what I used to clean up the cuts when I made my keggles and it worked very well.

i didnt hit it with a flap disc yet, the only ones i have here i have used on mild steel and dont want to make the problem worse.

You have bully's? I have three english.

After you hit it with a flap wheel scrub it with Bar Keepers friend, rinse and let it air dry. That will pacifate the stainless to help prevent further rusting.

+1. The BKF will do wonders for the stainless.

I don't have any bulldogs at the moment, but I've had three over the years. I sure miss them.
