I bought a Scotch ale kit a while back but now want to use it as a base for a IIPA instead. Since it's been sitting in storage four a bit, I'm thinking of changing up the specialty grains and definitely kicking up the hops a few notches.

Any suggestions?

well what kind of scotch ale? a wee heavy will probably be too dark, roasty, malty to be an ipa.

I imagine an 80 shilling would probably work though

A few more details: The estimated ABV should be between 6-6.75% when done, with an estimated SRM of 20. In that alcohol range, it's more in the IPA range than a double IPA. I'm also thinking of adding either piloncillo or palm sugar, maybe even some tamarind pulp. I'm really open to experimenting on this batch so well see what direction this takes.
