Hey guys I have 2 extracts under my belt and would like to try my hand at a BIAB Scotch Ale recipe. I'd like to pick up a wort chiller and some type of strainer for my bag. Are the quantity of ingredients different from AG? I am in the process of gather items to start this brew.

I currently have 8 gallon brew pot, Hydrometer, test tube, 6 gal carboy, fermentation chamber, digital thermometer, Gas burner. I'd like to do a full boil and put 5ish gallons in the fermenter. Is my 8 gal pot big enough for for me grain bill on 5 gal batches?

8 gal pot is big enough for a full volume boil, but not big enough for most full volume mashes (that's why I upgraded from an 8 gal to a 15 gal.) You can brew in the 8 gal, but plan on doing a sparge of some sort to get your required pre-boil volume. A sparge increases your efficiency, so sparging is much better than topping up with water.

For your first attempt, just use the AG recipe as is. Take good notes on SG's and volumes so you can calculate your efficiencies. Then adjust future brews bases on your efficiency vs. the recipe's assumed efficiency (usually 70%.)

From your equipment list, it appears someone else is milling your grain. If you don't have a mill, ask your LHBS to mill the grain twice. Let them know you're doing a BIAB and don't have to worry about a stuck sparge. They may complain (takes more time or raises dust), but you're the one buying the ingredients.
