I have a dual guage Fermentap regulator that I bought from Morebeer. I want to add a regulator to my keezer, so that I can also dispense soda. I was thinking of buying a Chudnow brand "add a body" regulator from Keg Connection. They sell two kinds, left handed threads and right handed threads.

The guage I have:

The guage I'm thinking of buying:

Would adding one of these be as simple as unscrewing the high pressure gauge and screwing in the new regulator?

If that would work, how do I know if I need left or right hand threads?
The high pressure guage on my current regulator unscrews by turning it to the right (clockwise).

As always, thank you for any help you can offer me!

If the high pressure gauge unscrews "clock-wise", that's a "left-hand thread", so the Chudnow you linked would fit that hole.

However, now your high pressure gauge won't fit the Chudnow (check the "Details" section in your linked page - the Chudnow wants a right-hand-threaded high pressure gauge). And I can't tell from the image at the More Beer linked page how that gauge is plumbed clear enough to say you can replace its nipple with one that will make a right-hand-threaded connection to the Chudnow.

You might just phone the Keg Connection folks and see if you can come up with the piece(s) you need to make the add-a-primary-reg thing work out...

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply trippr. I left a message with keg connection today. I'll try to get ahold of them again tomorrow.

If anybody has a better/ cheaper way to do this other than the way I suggested please let me know!

Stay thirsty my friends!
