A buddy of mine is needing to clean his beer lines, He only uses sanke kegs and everythinghe has is set up for them, my guestion is how does one go about filling a sanke keg with water to run through the lines( i use ball lock kegs so am lost on this myself ).

How do they get beer inside the kegs?

Put the coupler on, leave the gas connection unconnected/open for venting, then run a line from a faucet to the beer connection, ideally terminated with a beer thread swivel nut but the right size vinyl line could be simply held to the bare beer port on the coupler until the fill is completed...

Cheers!

He owns a restaurant and orders his kegs.

Thank you for the easy to follow reply 👊🏼

An alternative method that doesn't involve having a clean sanke to fill, is to simply remove the tap and pump cleaner through from the top down while using a dowel to keep the check-valve ball in the coupler depressed: https://www.morebeer.com/products/beer-line-cleaning-kit.html ...the tap is seperately cleaned in your sink with a brush.

EDIT: I'm restless... this is the traditional line cleaner and I don't know why so many folk come up with every possible different method as if to avoid doing it the 'old way', but I love it and since I'm restless, I got my GF to hold the camera:
(Note: Ignore the ball lock connecter and just pretend that line goes straight to the sanke coupler)
