Guys breweing my second batch of NB exract brown porter tomorrow (Mutts Nuts). Thinking a couple of alterations from recipe.
1) Late addition LME. Reading up 25% early and 75% at 15min seems about right?
2) Brewers friend indicates a near doubling of IBU with late addition. It seems like reading up says dont really reduce hops too much because the calculation may be off - 20%.
Recipe 1/2oz goldings and 1/2 fuggle at 60min, with the same amount at 10min.
Thinking I should go to 4/10ths oz for all four additions?
3) Original batch needed a bit more flavor. Adding some UK coffee malt. Thinking a 1/4 lb would add just a hint of extra complexity?
