sanitizing in a pinch

I want to bottle my wheat today, but my roommate threw away my sanitizing solution mix not knowing what it was. I'd get some more but Im on a college budget with 10 cents left in my account and dont get paid for a few days.
can I just use regular soap to clean my bottling bucket and be very careful about rinsing it clean?
any other tricks?

can't wait a few days to bottle? I don't think I'd use soap. A weak bleach solution rinsed well MAYBE, but I'd wait.

You could always bake the bottles to sterilize them. The racking cane and bottling bucket might be a bit trickier.

I would, but at the same time it was the bottom of the bag for some OneStep...maybe enough to make 7 gallons of sanitizing solution...Ive already bought it now, and I dont see a dollars worth of product being worth starting hostility over

You could always turn a few tricks for a bottle of StarSan, it lasts for a very long time.

1 oz bleach in 5 gallons of water. mix well, add 1 oz white vinegar.

No rinse sanitizer solution. Just let dry and go to town!

To be honest, I thought you were calling me cheap (which as a college student I unfortunately am).
