I received several cartons of the "Grolsch Style" flip top bottles for a gift. What is necessary to sanitize these caps. After cleaning the bottles, I will be spraying them with Star San. Is spraying sufficient for the caps? Or do I need to remove the bails and soak the whole thing?. Thanks

Give them a hot water rinse and wipe gunk if there is any. Spray with Starsan before filling. No need to disassemble.

In the past I dunked the whole bottle into a bucket of Easy Clean a few minutes before bottling.

You can pull the rubber gaskets of and sanitize separately, but I'd say it's not necessary unless they're really gunky.

I always removed the bails and stored the caps in a pitcher full of starsan. As one bottle is filling you have enough time to place a cap on the previously filled bottle and snap it shut. Never had any problems doing it that way.
