Hey folks,

I got my hands on a couple year old Samsung RS277ACBP side-by-side refrigerator with the intention of converting the freezer side for kegs while the fridge can be used for kitchen overflow and the like. Before I get much farther, I want to state that beyond basic circuits, I'm not electrically inclined. I went out and got two Inkbird ITC-1000 controllers based on a recommendation and have been referring to a service guide I found for my model. I'm fairly certain I have the circuit concept correct for wiring in the controllers, but I'm left to make educated guesses/exhaust possible combinations of wires for finding the correct wire to attach to the cooling circuit of the controller.

Thus far I have the compressor coming on, but when the freezer gets below temp (38*F), the freezer controller clicks off (as desired) and the compressor keeps going (not what we want). Meanwhile the fridge is struggling to get below 50*F. If I let it go for a while, the freezer keeps getting colder and the fridge still struggles to cool.

I'm working on this in my spare time and thus have more wires to try, but I'm wondering if someone here can either point me in the right direction for the wires or confirm a suspicion I have where the the Samsung controller might use a digital signal and not voltage to communicate with the circuit board. If my suspicion is correct, my fallback is to cut holes in the cabinet partition, install fans on a main to equalize the temperature between the cabinets, and use one of the controllers to controller the refrigerator as a whole.

Any assistance is welcome. This project is keeping me from brewing anything new, so the sooner I can move on to mechanical and finish this project, the sooner I can fill up my lonely kegs.

Thanks in advance! :mug:

I'm not sure about what wires but it sounds like the fan that moves the cold air from the freezer to the fridge isn't working.

The fridge and freezer are two separate zones so there is no air transfer from the freezer to the fridge. Your thought did make me confirm that the fan in the fridge was working for circulating air in that chamber.

The plan tonight is to try filling up the fridge with some stuff to see if that helps.

So now both chambers are chilling to the desired temp, but the compressor isn't turning off and the temps keep going down. Going to try different wires, but if someone can provide me advice or confirm that this won't work, I'd be grateful!
