Great Lakes' Rye of the Tiger has me wanting to try my hand at using rye in a batch. As far as hops go, I want to use something new in this recipe. I haven't brewed with Nelson Sauvin yet, and the flavor and aroma descriptions online sound great. I read in a few places of commercial beers that pair Nelson Sauvin with rye, so I figured, why not?
The LHBS carries the Briess Rye LME. It is 70% 2-row, 20% rye, and 10% C-40. I am hoping to get a taste of rye on the finish similar to Rye of the Tiger - if 20% doesn't cut it I can do a partial mash with rye malt.
Let me know what you think.
