Everytime I go to Watkins Glen and hike the Gorge with SWMBO, we stop by the Crooked Rooster and get pints of, what I think, is the best nut brown on the East Coast and talk to Doug.
Its darker than your average nut brown, almost black and has a minute red tint at the bottom of the glass if you hold it up to the light. There are hints of chocolate and coffee and it has that light, "crystally" taste (does anyone know what I mean by that?? cause I know exactly what I mean....)
Anyway...anyone who brews in NY and has HAD it know a close recipe? I've already told Mr. Thayer that it'll be on tap at my wedding.
p.s: Hop Warrior is now in bottles in Wegmans.
