Hey Folks,

Just bottled a small batch Citrus IPA. The last bottle only got 2/3rds full.
Do I cap it or dump it? I'm thinking the extra head space in the bottle will be bad.
Thanks.

You gotta cap that ****.
For what it's worth i'd drink that bottle first, The extra headspace may increase the potential for oxidisation.
Use it as the first test bottle to see if your up to the desired carbonation level, If you bulk primed? if not it may be slightly over carbonated. It'll still be good young.

Agreed. Drink it first. Otherwise, watch your face/eyes when opening. I capped one that was about 2/3rds full before and I forgot about it. When I opened it, it shot like a gun and cap bounced off the ceiling. I'm guessing the lack of fluid to absorb the CO2 leads to excess pressure, but I could be completely wrong here...

Thanks for the responses. I did cap it and wrote 2/3 on the cap as a reminder. I did bulk prime.
It'll be at 9 days when I can open it.
Gotta say...I'm having a blast. The first batch will be at two weeks in the bottle on Wednesday. That will be our first test (as it spent the first week at around 64-65 degrees until I moved it back upstairs).
