Saying hello from the North-East Coast - joined today in my conquest to start all grain brewing. I have a few extract recipes under my belt as of now with only 1 failure... so that's not too bad.

My first beer was a Hefe that the brew store had a recipe for to get me going. Came out decent, so I grabbed another of their recipes for a porter, and altered it minimally. Then instead of priming the bottles with just DME, or Dextrose, I brewed a nice big pot of coffee, stirred the DME in there, and let it cool, and it came out pretty boss. Then I brewed what I was told was an "IBA" (India Brown Ale) but... i'm pretty sure that's what APA's are yes? Most Recently, I tried doing a Habanero Red, which was the first time doing my own recipe... but that failed miserably as I forgot to wash the habeneros before putting them in the fermenter, and then our AC broke on top of that, which allowed out house to get up to around 78 degrees this summer (OUPH!).

Anyway - I'm getting ready to brew a batch for Christmas, and want to try going all grain, so I will be here a lot as I continue my Beer Expedition.

Also - if you have any home-made contraptions that can help me out with moderating my fermentation temp, or chilling my wort... those ideas are EXTREMELY welcome.
