Morning all,

I am new to the world of Home Brewing and just getting started. As I live in the North of England (Yorkshire) we have lots of Rhubarb therefore I would like to start by making a Rhubarb Cider and/or Rhubarb Beer. Please can anyone suggest any recipes ?also where is the best place to buy equipment to get started ?

Any advice / tips is hugely appreciated !

Cheers

I have a recipe for a rhubarb rye ale in the recipe section (wheat and rye beers). Yooper has a recipe for rhubarb wine. Just have a look around. You'll find a couple things.

You could cook down the rubarb with some brown sugar and apple juice, put it in the primary, top off with apple juice, yeast nutrient, and pectic enzyme, and see how it goes. Just be sure the apple juice doesnt have any stabilizers. Rubarb when its not sweetened can get sour, so you might want stabilize and backsweeten after fermentation and have it as a still cider.

As for equipment, you might want to try a wine equipment kit off amazon, I started out making wine, then went to cider. The equipment a basically the same.
