Much beer was had, much fun was had. The results are in... We tasted 11 different home brews - most of them were pretty good! All were drinkable. :drunk: The gammut ranged from fruity seasonals to a couple darker brews. We threw 2 ringers into the mix: Keystone Light (undrinkable) and Alaskan Amber (borderline undrinkable after tasting so many homebrews!). We had the following categories: best color, best aroma, best name/label, best and worst overall, and pick the 2 ringers. Chocolate Legs came out high in most categories! We tied for 1st in best aroma and best name, and came in second for best overall. Unfortunately, best overall went to my arch-nemesis and coffee buddy:mug: . He made a porter using some roasted grains that also gave his a beer a hint of coffee aroma/taste - very nice! Ironically, we newbies ranked higher in most categories than some of the folks that had been brewing for awhile!! Beginners' luck... Twas a good time, and I'm already thinking of ideas for next years entries... Suggestions gladly accepted!!

Sounds like y'all had fun. Your Chocolate Legs sounds like an interesting brew. A Chocolate Espresso Stout sounds like it would be quite rich.

For your next comp, maybe pick something no one else is brewing. You might try an old ale or an ESB, for example, if those are underrepresented.
