We had and all-grain Dunkel freeze during lager. Not exactly sure when it froze in the process but it hit about 4-5% ABV when it was supposed to be above 6%. I don't have the numbers in front of me now. We kegged it and it tasted really grainy. Gross on the first, barely tolerable after a few.

We are thinking about re-pitching it. Anybody have this happen and recover it? Any tips?

Can you bring it up to 65-70° F? The yeast never die, they just go dormant so some heat may bring it back to life, then make sure you stay within the recommended temps for lagering.

Worse case scenario? You will make beer! :mug:
