Hi all,
I have some apple and orange concentrate wine it has been moved to the secondary demi john as it started to really slow down bubbling, SG reads 1.000, i added some potasium sorbate and a campden tablet to it when i racked it, it has started to clear do i keep re racking it and adding a campden tablet every time until im happy it is clear enough to bottle or rack for long term storage?
whats the general practice once inital fermentation has been reached?
cheers
Lee.

if your not using any clearing agents... rack every month until no more sediment is in the bottom... i find using no clearing agents and no filtering gives you a better tasting wine.

Campden is only needed every other racking waiting 4 to 6 weeks in between rackings. Keep racking until you don't see anymore sediment even if the wine looks clear
