Removing Logos from fine beer glasswear

No I didn't try the Star-san. My local homebrew store didn't have a small quantity, and I didn't have twenty bucks to spend on the experiment, but I tried... Oh, they told me that it wouldn't work, aqueous solution of phosphoric acid for organics. The Stella appears to be etched below the logo, so no go.

I checked out all the links above, johntangus, but they do not offer fine european clear glassware. And my googling has not been productive. I'm thinking Macy's for crystal.

Sorry, feeling punchy today. Don't know a fellow brewer who uses Star-san? Based on how well it works on Stone Brewing bottles, I gotta think its the way to go with the logo glassware...ok, I'm going to shut up now.

IMHO, if you are brewing, you should have some Starsan anyway. Give it a shot.

I agree, but not this week, got a hole in me pocket...

Toluene, no way. Any way, these glassware are ETCHED below the logo, so removal is not a solution. Lead me to my tasting glass, I only need one. My guests can enjoy the logos.

Try Value Village! I have a collection various glasses I have picked up there for around 2 bucks each. A few are the goblet style. It sounds ghetto but stop by one, you will be surprised what they have.

I picked up a sweet German beer stein there also, for 7 bucks.

Perhaps something like a snifter? My wife bought me two of these to be used specifically with some Eisbochs. Not as big as a brandy snifter but bigger than a wine glass. Elegant.

Can't afford starsan but a fine crystal glass from Macy's? Anyway, have a look at some of these.

I loved both the Belgian tulup, and Spigelau.

For the Belgian, $11+ shipping is steep for one glass. Net total, $18

For the Spigelau, greatest shape, yet too small, needs to be 13-16 oz, .4L.

It's funny you should mention that. Not long ago I went in and got an eight-piece set of Libbey pub glasses for under $10.

Also, anyone looking for Guinness pint glasses need look no further than Food Lion. They have (or at least had) a combo of two Guinness pint glasses (with logos -- sorry, Hex) and two cans of Guinness for a whopping $5.99.

I removed some logos from cheap bottles with CLR and then toothpaste. The toothpaste has grit in it and will polish the glass. Also good for coffee mug logos.

Any update on this? I have had the same problem! I hate the Stella logo and love the glass.
