I'm planning on brewing soon but I have to move into an new apartment.

I want the beer ready for a special occasion but this move puts a damper in my (possible) racking schedule.

I know racking is for settling and clearing but can you move a secondary carboy (unlike a primary, where you don't want to move a lot?)

Thank you in advance!

Moving a secondary won't hurt it too much, and if you limit the move, it will resettle pretty quickly. I've had to move one or two and they seem to stir up a little yeast in the bottom third (maybe?) and then settle out just fine after a day maybe, the little they stirred up. Just try to limit the amount and duration of the move. If you keg or bottle, it will settle out there anyway, once it gets chilled so not too much to worry about.

you can move either secondary or primary.

Sometimes I shake my primary towards the end of fermentation just to get the yeast back into suspension.

I would move while the beer is still in the primary with the yeast active. If you really shake things up like driving cross town, the yeast in the primary could do you a favor and scrub out any oxygen that accidentally gets mixed up in the beer. Your much more at risk for oxidation in the secondary where the yeast are no longer around to help you out.
