I'm looking to use water from HLT to rehydrate yeast. After sparge my HLT is 170F. Any reason not to pull from HLT, cool to hydration temp and rehydrate the yeast? I do not add anything to my HLT but RO water.
 
RO water is not generally recommended for rehydration, because some mineralization is needed to minimize issues with osmotic pressure.
 
RO/Distilled water is not something you want to rehydrate your dry yeast with. Typically your HLT should contain the same water profile as you are mashing with. So if the water has been adjusted with minerals, go for it, if not, just use some decent filtered/bottled water.
 
I brew commercial and therefore do not dose the HLT as it's used for cleaning, sparging etc..
