Hi guys,

Made a mistake in my kegerator setup and after storing the tank on its side I think I got some liquid Co2 in the regulator. I have the two guage governor model. One dial works fine, but the other shows 14psi even with no gas pressure. I am still able to pressurize a keg with it but I have to turn it up to 24psi to get what might be 10psi actual pressure.

Any way to resolve this? Is it likely that it's just the guage itself that is messed up and not the regulator valve? Can I recalibrate the guage or does it need to be replaced?

Gauge is prolly trashed. Be careful trying to replace. Those gauges are usually set with a thread sealer/thread locking compound and can be a real PITA to remove. The regulator bodies are usually pretty soft too.

Not sure why that would damage the gauge. Maybe the indicator hand is loose or has moved on the stem?

Yeah, if it's the gauge I will probably just leave it and make it a simple regulator maybe using the bad side for force carbing if needed.

The indicator seems to operate perfectly, just as if it is calibrated with 14psi as "zero".

Could have pegged out and thrown the needle off calibration. Most of teh gauges on these thing are cheap and not adjustable. Easier to just replace IF you can get the threadlock broken loose.

Yeah, they're like $10. I never had any trouble getting them off the regulator body, actually it was a bit too easy. They used a minimal amount of teflon tape though (a little over 1 turn), no thread lock.
