Regulator Leaking

I'm fairly new to kegging. I just built a keezer and I have a regulator that I bought on ebay a bit ago (photo attached).

The tank pressure gauge seems to be leaking quite a bit. I can't tighten it more by hand and I'm afraid of breaking it if I try to use any tools to tighten. Do I need to buy a sealant for the gauge? There shouldn't be any air leaking out of it, correct?

It looks like there was an o-ring or something on the tank pressure gauge.

Any other recommendations on how to get this guy up and running would be great.

I am pretty sure you should be using some sort of sealant on the threads of those gauges. Pipe thread can only be sealed reliably when it's wrapped with teflon tape or some sort of brush on sealant first. Can't run them in dry and expect it to seal ) :

Teflon tape is your best friend. Between homebrewing and paintball, teflon tape is my version of duct tape.

Also remember that a little bit goes a long way. Don't wrap too much on there or you won't be able to screw the reg in enough.
