A problem I keep having with my regulator is that I'll set it to about 6 psi and walk away. When I check on it a day later the gauge is showing about 40-50 psi. It just seems to keep going up by itself. Is there a problem with the regulator or is there back-pressure in the keg causing this or is it something else I'm doing wrong? :drunk:

I'm pretty new to kegging so any help is appreciated.

They can sometimes creep a couple of pounds. I always set mine a few pounds short and make later adjustments if necessary. A jump from 6 to 40-50psi is not normal. Occasionally you can get a defective regulator that will just continue to creep up in pressure.
