I have an opportunity to buy an old brass tower. What would I need to refurb it to use it on a new system? Replace faucets or just clean them? Replace lines? Insulate it? Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks,

Tough to answer without seeing it. More than likely new lines at the minimum, clean faucets and insulate if not already present. Polishing might be needed.

if it's metal it should be able to be cleaned and/or polished. So the faucets should be able to be cleaned but cheap ones are not expensive to replace them. If the lines are plastic then replace them to be safe

It might also be a good excuse to get some new, brass finish Perlicks. :)

I have the same question...I just picked up a Brass 9 tap riser and my main question is how to polish the brass up. Is there a special brass polish that I need to use, will something else do that would be cheaper?

That tower will be easy to clean. Take the faucets off and soak them in HOT Oxyclean. Then rinse them and polish with Brasso. It will take about 15 mins per faucet but they will shine when done. It is hard to see in the pics but looks like the faucet valves are chrome or stainless. That would be a nice freebee. Mine were all brass but I sold them on ebay for $10 per. I already had Stout faucets and Perlicks. The tower should be cleaned with Oxy for beer stains then Brasso for the rest. If you want it to really shine google for brass workers in your area. They will polish, remove scratches and laquer it. It will look new.

Good luck and post the finished pics.
