how does everyone like to drink either Joe's Quick Grape Mead or Joe's Ancient Orange Mead? I have made 1 gallon of each and trying to decide to refrigerate or leave at room temp?
thanks

Never tried Joes Quick Grape but Joes Ancient Orange really depends upon the age. If <12-18 Months it is almost always better chilled. If >12 - 18 months then room temp. I think when chilled it kind of masks the pith / orange rind flavor that comes through from the fruit when young that eventually ages out. (That.s my theory anyway.)

In my opinion pretty much any sweet Mead is better after aging for a bit at or near room temp.

Really quite the coincidence you should say this....says the guy who's only been making mead a couple of years.

I brought 2 different Cherry Berry meads (same recipe) to our family Xmas get together. The first I made 2 years ago and back sweetened. It took this long to taste good (very good, as a matter of fact!) because my process wasn't that good back then. The second I made a year ago and didn't sweeten. The back sweetened mead from 2 years ago was decidedly better at room temp., all of us thought so. The other mead tasted better chilled.
