I like the shape of the Lagunitas and I was wondering if anyone has tried capping them with a wing capper? Im new to the brewing scene so go easy on me here! : )

I have a few old Lagunitas bottles I use to bottle my homebrew. I use a wing capper. I think most beer bottles will work, though I've heard that some people have issues with New Belgium(?) bottles.

Yup! Works fine. I've used those bottles for a long time. For future reference, any non twist off/non cork bottle can be reused with a capper.

Have fun!

PS - soak the bottles in oxiclean/PBW for a few hours and the labels fall right off

I use em all the time but I do have a bench capper. I heard its possible with a wing capper just, be a bit careful..

Theyre fine with the wing capper...only bottles I've had issue with are the anchor bottles.

I prefer the smaller type (lagunitas + sierra) bottles. I use a wing capper and have only broken approx 5 bottles over approx 200 gal. But all of the broken ones have been lagunitas bottles. Maybe they use cheaper glass. @johnmac22 I love using anchor bottle. So easy to clean and no problems capping

New Belgium bottles rock, not only do that labels come off super easy they cap great. I use Lagunitas bottles as well, I have two types of wing capers and both work well on both these brands.

I tend to have a problem using shorty bottles. Seems the caps don't seal as well. I've slowly gotten rid of all the shorties and only use standard 12oz tall bottles now (in addition to bombers and 500ml bottles).

My wing capper has a hard time with Lagunitas bottles. The lip the capper grabs seems to be shallower and causes my capper to slip off sometimes. I can still cap them it just takes a couple tries sometimes.
