Hey Guys,

I am feeling the greeness and want to create a re circulation system from an old cooler I have layer around for my copper immersion chiller. Just tired of wasting so much water (even though I do water some plants with it).

Whats a good pump (for cooling 5 gallon full boils) that I could get to create this system? I have a 10 gallon cooler that I will have water/ice in and 3/8" tubing.

Thanks!

I would just get a 20 dollar pond pump from Harbor Freight....you don't anything fancy. That's what I use.

Pond pump is fine, but keep in mind, faster flow=more efficiency. I run a chugger pump through 50' & can cool 6.2 gal in about 10 min. using about 15 gal water. I fill my HLT w/ ice water & run off about 8 gal into buckets for cleanup, I then recirculate to hit pitching temp.
