Mash Schedule: Single Infusion, Medium-Full Body, Batch Sparge

Name Description Step Temperat Step Time
Mash In Add 17.05 qt of water at 164.9 F 154.0 F 60 min

Sparge: Drain mash tun, Batch sparge with 2 steps (4.07gal, 2.03gal) of 168.0 F water

And then I'd cool it to ~175F and let it steep after at that temp with your hops for 20 minutes or so, before finishing cooling.

Thanks I will give that a try can you toast the grains ahead of time?

Most definitely. I've read that toasted grains need to be "rested" for 5-14 days after toasting to release something-or-other, and then I've read lots of accounts of folks using them the same day as toasting. I, myself, have toasted my own grains twice. The first time I rested for 5 day in a paper bag, and the second time I toasted about 12 hours before using. I do not notice a difference one way or another.

Edit: And I use a spoon to stir them around while in the oven every 5 minutes or so.
