All my jobs in the past 15 years have been automation related. I'm an EE but more focused on the software side than the hardware side.

First picture is from a glass manufacturing plant deep within the slums of RdJ. What a shizhole. The slums went on for mile after mile after mile just like that. Fresh water was from the blue bins on the roof, and your drain was a white PVC pipe out to the street.

There were a few nice parts of town though. The second pic was from the hotel on Copacabana. Was a safe area in the immediate vicinity but go too far and it wasn't.

I was gonna guess that too. I flew into Sao Paulo, (another shëiteholé) then took a puddle jumper to Navagantes. Then drove to Blumenau. It's a heavily German population. Home of the 2nd largest Octoberfest.

Unfortunately I wasn't there for Octoberfest. Was looking at large steel castings from this predominantly German Foundry.

Nice pictures of some of their architecture. The town is not all German looking. It's very European looking without a doubt. Here's a few I found online.
