One thing I miss after moving from Tucson is the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. They always have some incredible displays. It starts this year Feb. 13.

It actually started Jan 30, so we got to spend 3 days wandering around the various shows. It's an overwhelming experience, even for an experienced gem show veteran like me and my wife.

No snow in Birmingham this time but parts of LA getting a lot (for us). 10°F tonight here. Weird system. My son is deployed with Army Guard helping stuck/stranded motorists.

My sisters in Mobile have had twice as much snow as we have here in our part of New Mexico, and we live at 6200' above sea level.

Southwest corner of NM, at 6200' Apparently there are also whitetails, but they stay higher up in the mountains, and the elk rarely come this far south. But we do have lions and bears occasionally.

I have friends living in amazing places. These are from Norway, and apparently have been a nightly thing since Christmas. The pictures (all five are clickable) that are nearly all green are what you would see with your eyes, the other two are from a camera shot which captures the colors not seen otherwise...
