Willow tree I've been keeping shaped for a while, next to the hops. The ones on the pole near the tree that are already up the pole are Cascade, no surprise.

The tall bamboo poles with lines on them are strapped to the shorter locust poles in a way that they can be lowered to horizontal position when it is time to harvest.

Normally, we can see to infinity and beyond from our yard. The smoke from the fires in the Great White North have reduced the visibility considerably. What appears to be the horizon in this pic is about 1/4 mile away.

Those are flowers, native and non native poppies mostly. The really bad weeds are on the backside of the garage. My FIL put a layer of asphalt on the courtyard that causes flooding into the old farm kitchen so my pickaxe and I will bust that up. We'll build a short wall and bring in topsoil to level the courtyard so rain soaks in instead of running off.

taking the tow behind rotary mower out for its first drive a couple evenings ago. once the lower yard is cleaned up the backhoe will be swapped back on so I can get to work cleaning up where a new retaining wall will eventually go
