any body use it?

getting a deluge... planning on brewing on thurs... may burton it. thoughts?
going into a porter

is it pure? mashing it... so it will be boiled... probably only a portion of final will be used in mash...

just a crazy thought... won't catch enough... moved to center of yard to eliminate tree (and critter) droppings

This also brings to mind, that alot of our food is grown from that stuff from the clouds,i dont recall God putting a filter in between. My guess is the soil filters it? Then.
A while ago i was reading up on healing waters or something that fascinated me about rain water specifically durning a thunderstorm that is H202.
Not shure if it is similar to oxygen watercoolers if you have ever heard of them?

Rain water will be more acidic than your tap or whatever other source of water you use. If you're making a dark beer, you'll probably want to buffer it with something.

Had Edwort's Rain Water Kolsch a couple of years ago. He used water from a neighbor's collection system. The beer was great - had all the characteristics of a beer brewed with super-soft water. As long as it's collected cleanly, go for it.

How would you collect it? Off your roof? Lotta dirt and other stuff up there.

read about how people collect water in bermuda. use google. they use their roofs that are made of some special stone, dont remember the name now, but that stone acts as a filter. being in the middle of the ocean, they dont get much dust/dirt probably.

put 10 gallon brew pot and 10 gallon cooler tun in middle of yard. camp tarp on pole to funnel middle bits no tree bits.... water tasted ok only collected a small portion of what I needed... doing a porter and planned on Burtoning the water anyway... worth a shot to use this small of a portion

Any heavy industry around 50 miles? Any coal fired plants? Rain will carry a certain amount of stuff in it. Better for it to hit the ground naturally filter. While I'll use rain water to tend my plants, don't know if I want to brew with it.
