The more I read, the more I have questions. What the heck is a "mini-mash" ?
Stupid me, I thought that was a fancy word for grain steeping. I guess this has to do with pre-soaking at X temperature? Grinding?
 
Very simply, steeping means no starch conversion. Mini-mashes have enough 2-row to convert the starches and are conducted at normal (~152F) mashing temps.

Enough 2-row is about the same weight of 2-row as the specialty grains combined.
 
Steeping and mini-mashes may look the same on the outside, but there are completely different processes going on inside.
 
Thanks. I just about read it. Understand more now. Just not sure exactly how that last page system works. Looks easy enough, just not seeing where the wort will drain into.
