I recently got distracted when cleaning my bottles before bottling and mindlessly rinsed my bottles in a no-rinse sanitizer solution that was not mixed to the recommended dilution (should have been 1oz Star San per 5 gallons water). I mistakenly only added 2 gallons of water to 1oz Star San, then let the bottles dry and bottled my beer ...has anybody made a similar mistake? ...is the beer safe to drink or is it doomed?

Thanks

Thanks.

I followed your suggestion and contacted Five Star Chemical's Support.

In case anyone was wondering or finds it useful, I thought I'd share their response:
The actual approved dilution is between 1oz/5gal up to 1oz in 3 gal. 1oz in 2 gal is outside this range. Seeing that the bottles were allowed to dry and you were not extremely outside the range, I will say that you are okay.

..I'll still proceed cautiously though :)

I had the opposite problem. The .5 in the 1.5 on the side of my bucket had rubbed off, so I was filling it with 1.5 gallons of water, thinkg it was a gallon, and adding enough star san for 1 gallon. No huge problems, but my beer definitely tastes a little better since I fixed it.
