I just got a Blichmann Autosparge and installed it in my mash tun. I did a quick test run with just water, simulating how I would do a normal fly sparge. I was able to get it to work well, I believe, but I was curious about how people have been using it with a pump.
Do you try to get the speed of the pump moving your sparge water into it pretty close to the speed you're draining your mash tun and have the Autosparge only do "micro corrections" with the float valve? Or do you open your pump close to wide open and let the Autosparge do the heavy lifting?
From what I saw, if I got my pump speed too high, the valve on the Autosparge would start leaking. But there was a wide range where it's seemed to work.
