Hello,

I brewed my first Berliner Weiss, and I would like to take a sample of it, but have a question. I ferment my beers in American Sanke kegs, and I use the Brewers Hardware Sanke Fermentor Kit. I'm able to transfer my beer to my kegs under pressure, and I was wondering if it's alright to take a sample this way. I wasn't sure if a Berliner Weiss forms a pellicle, and if taking a sample by pushing it out by CO2 would affect it.

Thanks.

Sometimes they form a pellicle. It shouldn't disturb it too bad if it does have one because you'll be pulling from the bottom of the keg.

Another thing I just thought of, the hosing setup I have to connect my CO2 tank to the blow off port of the Sanke Fermentor Kit to push the CO2. Do I need to worry about cross contamination with it? Hope that makes sense :)

I wouldn't worry about the CO2 line, but anything that your beer touches could be contaminate it. If it's only lacto then it's pretty easy to kill in my experience.
