Hey all.

I'm looking to make a five gallon BOMM, and so I've got the 1388 packet, honey, water, and goferm all fizzing away in a one liter bottle, stirring/swirling occasionally (perhaps one day to go for the stir plate!). I've never worked with a starter before. How long to I let this go before dumping it into the must? Am I waiting for all the sugar to be converted, a certain time frame, a decline in offgassing, etc.?

Well the recipe says "Put on stir plate for 2-3 days before pitching". No stir plate, it will still need time. But you would be better off asking Loveofrose in his BOMM thread.
