I'm starting from the ground up and I am a little confused on how to get my power going in my basement. I'm going to have to share my 30A dryer receptacle. If I understand correctly I can wire a 4 wire dryer plug to a 50A spa panel that I can then just plug into the receptacle and then be GFCI protected downstream....is this correct?

Then my control panel for my BIAB and pump setup would be about 20 feet or so from the spa panel. Would I just run 10/3 from the spa panel with a male plug on the end that would then plug into the control panel supplying power?

Hope that is not to confusing and thanks ahead time for any help.

Before you spend money and time wiring up a spa panel look at one of these.

You can wire P/N PGFI-2301N in line with your power cord & not change your outlet or dryer power plug. The only limitation is you won't be able to run any 120V accessories - everything has to be 240V because any current to ground will trip the GFI.
