So me and the wife poured epoxy resin on both my bartop and the inside counters. When we poured the top we sealed everything off and thought we were good. Turns out there was a leak and now there are spots of built up spilled epoxy on top of the counters where we epoxyed first. They even have cardboard stuck in it from the barriers we built. What should be done to remove this? Sand it and apply another coat.

I work with 2 part epoxy everyday and it is a very forgiving product. You can sand the drips down and then reapply another thin top coat and the sanding scratches will disappear. Since you will need a very thin coat I would suggest you buy some foam brushes instead of trying another 'pour on' coat. You can blend the new coat in by using a torch of some sort (I use propane but you can use a torch cigarette lighter for the purpose ) before the coat sets up. Be careful.

Be sure you let the old application set up in temps above 70 degrees for a few days before you begin or you can end up with a big mess trying to work with a coat of uncured epoxy.

Thanks. The first coat is weeks old so I'm good there. I'm sanding it now with a palm sander and it's super thick and taking forever. As long as the white spots disappear I feel comfortable.
