Has anybody else done this recipe?-
http://beerrecipes.org/showrecipe.php?recipeid=302

It's a Mackeson stout clone. It calls for 7lbs of "Australian light syrup". Is it really asking for that much refined cane sugar, or is it just bad wording?
I wouldn't be as confused, except that it refers to the syrup as "extract syrup" in the procedure, which makes me wonder if they're just calling for some australian brand of light liquid malt extract(like coopers).

I've found that same recipe all over the internet, but nowhere does it have any better explanation of the ingredients.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yep certainly sounds like light LME to me, what else could it possibly be?

That saidd I would probably find a different recipe. That one calls for boiling the crystal malt, steeping some of the grain after the boil, and some other weird procedures.
