Pulling for a gravity reading

Is there a better way to pull a sample from your fermenter to test gravity than a racking cane?

I use a sanitized wine thief/ turkey baster. Works really well for me. That what most people do from what I hear.

yeah wine thief. 1000% better than trying to start and stop a siphon
