Hello, what length probe should I get for the Spike Kettle? Half port will be at 1.5” mark.

My understanding the NPT ports stick out of the kettle, so I wasn’t sure if I should go with 2.5” instead of the recommend 2” probe you find on the Electric brewery.

doesnt really matter unless you have an immersion wort chiller that wont fit beside it. if your mounting in a tee you would want the longer one as you want the end of the probe to reach into your kettle for accurate temp readings.

i assume you are asking about the probe in the boil kettle. i have spike boil kettle with a half port for the temp element and used 1.5" rtd sensors, no issues (see photos).
