Just finished brewing a brown ale for competition, and i noticed throughout my recirculated mash that my mash tun outlet thermometer was getting more and more full of wort! check the pic!

has this ever happened to anyone else?

i have had it happen from the outside in, not the inside out. usually is water getting when soaking the pot after a bad boil over.

I took a sample (ball valve right below thermometer) while boiling because I screwed up boil volume on this barley wine, so I think somehow the wort condensation from the wort in the valve got in? I have a heat shield right below my ball valve, so the thermometer usually doesn't get too hot. Some of the wort dripped on the heat shield, creating a crusty mess.
