Priming with Brown sugar

I just did a Fat tire clone and I used brown sugar to prime. Just thought I would try something different after reading Plamers book. In the book he said you can use Brown sugar to prime with. Any one here ever done it before and what was the results you had?

If you try it, let me know how it turns out, might not be a bad idea for my pumpkin ale maybe.
