Has anyone ever tried to prime by combining 2 types of sugar? I.e.: half dextrose half honey?

Priming is such a minimal addition, even "flavourful" priming agents (Dark DME, maple syrup etc.) are hard to taste, so to cut one in half would, in my opinion, make it near impossible to detect.
If you are meaning to do so as one material is in inadequate supply, then there is no reason you couldn't. Being sure to account for the difference in sugar content.

I actually thought that perhaps using dextrose and honey might allow for the easier fermenting dextrose to be fermented first and maybe leave more of the honey flavour in the beer. I don't know...just thinking out loud

Never heard of this technique but test it out! bottle half regularly with just honey and the other half with both and see if you can taste a difference in the brews once the carb is done. Who knows you might discover something new
