It just occurred to me that in my last two batches I added the priming sugar minuets after it was boiling hot. Is this a problem? perhaps it should be cooled before adding?:confused:
 
I cool mine down first, but not anal about it. Take it off the heat, throw something on top to keep anything from getting into it and let it cool why I sanitize bottles and stuff.
 
I pour my boiling priming sugar directly into the bottling bucket when there is about 1/2 gallon of beer in it. Even if it does kill those first yeasties off, there is still another 4.5-5.5 gallons of yeast loaded beer coming in right after to take care of carbonation. I haven't had a problem yet.
