So I had planned on bottling a batch of hefe today. I just took my car in the shop to get the brakes looked at. I have no car so I cannot get to the beer store today. blah blah blah. Anyway, can I use table sugar to prime my beer. If so, how much? I was thinking 2/3 of a cup if it works.

Thanks

An even better idea is to boil the sugar into an invert simple syrup, which breaks down the sugar's two molecules into single molecules, which are easier for yeast to deal with.

"Invert sugar syrup may also be produced without the use of acids or enzymes by thermal means alone: two parts granulated sucrose and one part water simmered for five to seven minutes will convert a modest portion to invert sugar."

"All constituent sugars (sucrose, glucose and fructose) support fermentation, so invert sugar solutions may be fermented as readily as sucrose solutions."

But this is just a headgame at this point!

How much for individual bottles? I dropped my carboy yesterday while transfering from primary! I still had about 1 gal left in primary that i managed to save! I want to bottle it, so how much sugar should I put per bottle?
