I am fresh out of corn sugar, and have a bottling day planned in the next few days. I do have lots of table sugar. I also have a bag of DME. I may even have a few other things. Or should i just wait and order a bag of corn sugar?
Use the table sugar. I use table sugar to prime all my beers and for what they charge for 5oz of it at homebrew shops I could buy a 2lb bag of the plain stuff at the grocery store instead.
I mostly use dextrose (corn sugar) to prime with. But table sugar & either processed or raw cane sugar works well too. Raw cane sugar is also good in recipes,as it has a light brown sugar laced with honey flavor. It'll also add a wee tiny bit of color. Here's a priming calculator to tell the differences in how much to use between dextrose, sucrose,& DME's; http://http://www.tastybrew.com/calculators/priming.html
I go to natural food store and pick up a 32oz bag of Dextrose for like 4 bucks might be 5 with tax. can get approx 10 - 5 gallon batches for like 5 bucks. and that beer priming calculator works great!
